Yanchep Secondary College has a cheerleading team which rehearse once a week. Entry into this team is an extra-curricular activity within the dance program.
The team will participate in a number of different competitions/festivals throughout the year in a range of different categories including; Cheer, Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical.
Popular Band was created for interested students to develop their technical, listening, ensemble and performance skills on their chosen instrument, focusing on popular songs.
Students rehearse once a week on both familiar and new repertoire, with the goal of working towards performance opportunities. They are currently preparing for the annual Contemporary Music Ensemble Festival open to all public school students, and plan to showcase some songs at an end of year performance at YSC.

Entry into this team is an extra-curricular activity within the dance program and involves high expectations across a behavioural and curriculum context. The team will participate in a number of different competitions/festivals throughout the year. As a performing arts subject, dance students have the opportunity to perform at a range of different events throughout the year. For example:
- Choreography Night (End of semester performance night when the completion of the new theatre is built) including student choreography (a showcase of student’s own choreography)
