Dr Roma Yibiyung Winmar AM is a much-loved Noongar Elder whose tireless advocacy for language, culture and education has transformed communities across WA.
She has been recognised for significant service to the Indigenous communities of Western Australia, to the arts, and to education.
Her dedication to Noongar language and cultural wellbeing was inspired by her mother Lily, and the desire to carry on what she stood for.
A true national treasure.
